After what seemed to be a close game heading out of the half (39-36) in the Pitt and Eastern Kentucky matchup, Pitt finally figured they were playing a 5-5 team and needed to turn their game up a bit especially on their homecourt where the student section known as "The Zoo" sounded more like a rainforest for the better part of the game. Freshman Brandin Cummings, out to impress his brother (Nelly Cummings) who sat in to hype his younger sibling at the broadcast booth, led all scorers with 30 points.
