Cowboy fans, I’ve got a question for you.Are you mad, pissed off or just used to Jerry Jones shenanigans by now? Not but a few days ago Jerry Jones had the entire football universe buzzing for just having talks with Deion Sanders. For the better part of a week the sports media was in a frenzy with the mere possibility of “Prime” becoming the new head coach of the most valuable NFL franchise. The Cowboys fans were walking on a cloud for what they thought the football future held for them. They envisioned division titles, NFC Championships and surely a Super Bowl win with Sanders entering the building. Everyone just knew that Sanders would bring a mindset, an energy to the locker that was very much needed. Cowboys nation knew if Sanders took the position he’d have the pull & backbone to stand up to Jerry. Prime would make football exciting again in Dallas.
However, the one thing the ENTIRE COWBOYS FAN BASE forgot to take into deep consideration was “WHO IS THE TEAMS OWNER & DECISION MAKER” and that is good ole’ Jerry Jones. So JERRY, did what Jerry does. He hired a guy that will not take the shine from him or ever question any decision he makes. Jerry, killed the hopes of every Cowboy fan, like a gallon of water poured over a single lit match. He hired a dark horse, a hire that nobody saw coming,Brian Schottenheimer.
No disrespect to Brian, but this hire makes no sense. For the most part, he’s a career OC, not sure he’s been on MANY TEAMS radar as top HC candidate over the years. He was on Mike McCarthy’s staff and Jones just let Mike walk out of the door. Brian is a guy with no HC experience and hasn’t been the play caller for the past few seasons. I just don’t get how this hire gave Jerry goose bumps and hope for a better future. The fact of the matter is, Jones doesn’t care about the fans or having a winning/stable franchise, he cares about making sure he or his decision is ever questioned. He only cares that he’ll continue making and calling all the shots, he wants to make sure all microphones are in front of him AND NOT ANYBODY ELSE. Brian we all wish you the most success in the world but under Jones, I don’t see this being an enjoyable Introduction into the head coaching world. As for you cowboy fans….. IT IS WHAT IT IS!! Jerry will always be Jerry.
