I’m an Arkansas Razorbacks fan and have been my whole life. I lived in Arkansas until the age of 12, but never switched from the Hogs. It’s rough being a Razorbacks fan. Add that onto being a Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan. I haven’t felt the adrenalin rush of a big game in a looooong time. I don’t see one on the near horizon either…
I’m not a spoiled Steelers fan. I would have considered myself spoiled in the 70’s with 4 Super Bowls in 6 years, but I was that 12-year-old kid in the middle of it that didn’t want to adapt to anything “Picksburg”. In fact, I rooted for their biggest rivals! First the John Madden Raiders and then Bum Phillips’ Oilers. I eventually converted to black and gold. The only time I felt spoiled as a fan was between like 2005 and 2010. I didn’t think “we” had championship level teams some of those years, but damn if “we” didn’t somehow fall into the Super Bowl a lot. This run of mediocrity since 2012 does not make me feel spoiled.
Read this in monotone Steven Wright voice… I think I’ve watched one minute of Penguins hockey this year. It felt like the longest day of my life.
Pittsburgh sports teams are the definition of insanity. Let’s do the same thing over and over and expect different results.

Eli Manning is not a HOF’er. Not today and should never be. No All-Pro teams. No MVP votes. Never considered one of the elite at his position. He was on 2 SB winning TEAMS. That’s about it.
I played all the sports growing up, but eventually just basketball seriously. March Madness used to be such a big thing for me. I still watch, but I am absolutely GLUED to the college wrestling championships!
It seems like everyone I’ve ever met from Philly is cool. It also seems like most sports fans from Philly are assholes. Maybe the cool ones could police the assholes a little better. Happy for the cool ones that the Eagles prevailed.
